The flow of visitors and the length of their stays within museums has changed throughout history. In the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, it was widely understood that a museum was a space for contemplation. The audience, mostly experts or those considered as such, was encouraged to spend longer periods of time in the exhibition spaces. Whether due to public demand, encouragement from the museums, or a combination of both, a scenographic environment was created to accommodate this extended stay.  The most striking feature of the venue was the variety of seating options: benches, chairs, armchairs, and sofas were all available to visitors. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, there were shifts in museum paradigms regarding the public, visitor flow, and length of stay. These changes can be observed primarily through visitors’ behavior and the time they spend in exhibition spaces. An exponential increase in visitor numbers has led to a consequent decrease in the length of stay, linked to the trend of turning museums and exhibitions into spectacles. Museums that underwent these changes also adapted their exhibition design to reflect this new reality. The number of elements that previously served a permanent, scenic function was reduced, and they were often placed in areas outside the visitor’s passage or through the exhibition path.

However, even within this context of historical transformation, the seating for employees does not follow this logic. The seats, when they exist, are simple and intentionally designed to provide a moment of rest for the legs, rather than for contemplation. Thus, Amador e Jr. Segurança Patrimonial Ltda., in its commitment to enhancing employee performance and in line with best practices in the property security industry, is pleased to offer its Seating service. Comfortable seating will be provided for security guards to monitor the exhibition areas. Based on the understanding that greater physical comfort allows employees to perform their duties more effectively for longer periods, the service aims to improve and expand surveillance and security for the clients hiring it. These seats will be marked as reserved for employees, precisely because we consider them to be Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
